Michael Behenna shares a special moment with his dog, Bo, at his home southeast of Medford Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014. Behenna, a former Army First Lieutenant serving in Iraq, made a split-second decision on the battlefield when he was questioning a known member of al-Qaida, Ali Mansur, and killed him. Behenna was convicted of unpremeditated murder in 2009 and sentenced to Ft. Leavenworth. During an interview in his home southeast of Medford, he discussed his conviction, parole from Ft. Leavenworth and his new life as a ranch hand. (Staff Photo by BONNIE VCULEK)
