Ken Parker touches the back of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial at Government Springs Park Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, after the name of Lester Veazey, his half-brother, was etched into the Vietnam Veterans section. Veazey was critically wounded during the attack on Hill 881, and died at the age of 29 in 1977. The memorial, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Lodge No. 2270 in Enid, honors all Garfield County residents who were wounded or killed in the line of duty since World War I.
