Chisholm Trail

Tom Best and Ed Chambers, two cowboys who gave their lives in winning the Frontier to civilization, are buried near the site of this monument near the Chisholm Trail east of U.S. 81 north of Pond Creek. The National park Service has determined that the Chisholm and Great Western trails meet the criteria to become National Historic Trails. (Bonnie Vculek / Enid News & Eagle)
